People on the move: Aldermore; MSIF; Merlin Entertainments; Bluefin

ALDERMORE has appointed Ex-RBS national sales director Roger Evans as head of intermediary distribution at its Wilmslow office.

The challenger bank, which also has offices in Birmingham and Leeds, announced this week that he will join its team in Cheshire.

After a career spanning over 30 years with the RBS group, Evans said: “It’s a great time and opportunity to be joining Aldermore.

“Over the past seven years, they’ve developed an excellent reputation across the industry and wider broker market. I’m looking forward to this role and the challenges over the coming years.”

MERSEYSIDE Special Investment Fund has expanded its investment team by recruiting George Wright to its loans team.

Wright has over 31 years’ banking experience, most recently as an investment manager at NatWest in Southport.

Set up in 1994, MSIF is based in Merseyside and has supported over 2,000 businesses.

Chief operating officer, Lisa Greenhalgh said: ““George is very experienced and brings a different perspective to the organisation which we believe will really benefit the businesses we work with. 

“Whilst initially he will be supporting the investment teams, we’re looking at ways we can utilise his specialist expertise through other roles within the company.”

LEISURE attraction company, Merlin Entertainments, has appointed a new general manager to oversee its Manchester sites.

Legoland Discovery Centre and Sea Life Manchester, both based at intu Trafford Centre, will be overseen by Jenn McDonough as part of a major investment plan by the company.

McDonough will remain in the North West after being manager of Sea Life Blackpool for the past six years.

She said: “I’m excited by the challenges and opportunities ahead, especially with the major investment planned for Legoland Discovery Centre next year.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed working at the three Sea Life sites over the past nine years and this new role allows me to continue on that path, with the added offering of a new opportunity too – Legoland Discovery Centre, which is an exciting new chapter for me, one that I’m looking forward to embarking upon.”

AFTER acquiring Exchange Insurance Services back in April, Liverpool’s Bluefin insurance brokers will be headed by Graeme Walsh, EIS’ ex-director.

Walsh has over 30 years’ experience, including 16 years with the current Liverpool team.

Bluefin has two offices in Liverpool, and across the rest of the region in Carlisle, Penrith, Cockermouth, Horwich, Kendal and Stockport.

Walsh will report to Robin Thomson, regional managing director for central Liverpool and the North West, said: “The recent addition of Liverpool opened an exciting opportunity for Bluefin to increase our representation in the North West.

“Graeme has a great team around him and I am sure collectively they will build on what is already a key branch for Bluefin.”
