More Lancashire business owners urged to become life-savers

A PRESTON-based business support organisation has teamed up with the British Heart Foundation again to help even more Lancashire business owners become life-savers.

The Business Clinic is organising and hosting its second CPR training event with the charity at its offices in Lockside Office Park on Wednesday February 8.

It follows the success of the organisation’s initial event last year which saw 20 business people given expert training in vital life-saving techniques.

The two-hour morning session will cover both adult and child resuscitation techniques, the recovery position and how to use a defibrillator. There will also be a question and answer session.

The event is free and the training is available for a maximum of 20 people. There will also be an opportunity to give a donation to the charity to support its work in the community and to learn more about the organisation.

Carmen Parkinson, relationship manager at the Business Clinic, said: “Our CPR training event last year attracted a lot of interest and was over-subscribed. It’s such an important thing for people to learn that we decided to hold another.

“The more people in Lancashire who know how to use CPR resuscitation techniques the more chance there is that lives will be saved.

“We would urge everyone to take steps to get trained, whether in the workplace or in the community. You might just be a life saver.”

The Business Clinic is a Preston-based community interest company set up to support businesses in the county.

It offers a range of workshops and training as well as knowledge-based clinics for the local business community.

Launched in 2013, the organisation also holds ‘peerworking’ surgeries that explore business opportunities and challenges.

Monthly clinics give businesses impartial support and advice and focus on their strategy and development. The clinics are free and are aimed at enhancing business skills and knowledge.
