Northern Quarter draw for die-hard JD fans

Cane & Grain in Manchester’s the Northern Quarter has announced the launch of its very own Jack Daniel’s single barrel for die-hard fans of the famous whiskey brand.

It’s part of the celebration of the 150th anniversary of Jack Daniel’s.

The directors of Cane & Grain are Manchester’s finest whiskey connoisseurs, they travelled to Lynchburg, the birthplace of the very first Jack Daniel’s blend and oldest registered distillery in the United States in Tennessee last summer and handcrafted a barrel blend, completely unique to them.

The barrel has just arrived in the UK and is being poured in the bar from this week.

Lyndon Higginson director of Cane & Grain said: “Jack Daniel’s are taking over! We are so excited about sharing our unique Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel among ultimate whiskey connoisseurs in Manchester.

“We will be making a memorable toast to the most loved whiskey brand in the world for its 150th birthday by the opening of our Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel.

“Across each floor we will have exclusive drinks available included signature cocktails made by our very own bartender, Massimo in Science and Industry.”

Cam Dawson, who is the brand ambassador at Jack Daniel’s will be attending the party and said: “I very much look forward to driving awareness of the craftsmanship behind Jack Daniel’s and celebrate with Cane & Grain their very first Jack Daniel’s Grand Barrel Opening.”

Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey is made using the finest grains, pure, iron-free spring water, charcoal mellowed and matured in new American oak barrels.

Each barrel is identified for distinct nuances in flavour – from sweet caramel and vanilla to toasted oak – only the chosen few barrels, which rest in the upper echelons of the barrelhouse, receive single barrel status and are available for The Personal Collection.

Depending on the yield of the barrel, the Single Barrel Standard offers anywhere between 240 to 260 bottles of the one-of-a-kind whiskey.

And it’s not just about the whiskey, The Personal Collection also includes the delivery of the empty barrel, arriving sanded, varnished and personalised. In addition, each bottle is personalised to the owner.

Anyone who acquires a unique barrel will also be honoured with a plaque that sits proudly on the Jack Daniel’s distillery’s Wall of Fame. Showcasing a family of true whiskey aficionados, the plaque will sit amongst good company and now a leading Manchester bar has a place.

Most of the Barrels are available and investing in them secure a personal stock of Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel, perfectly matched to individual taste preference.
