People on the move: Property Alliance Group, UNSHACKLED.com, True Bearing, Style&Woods, Booth Ainsworth LLP, Bermans

Property Alliance Group, based in Stretford, Manchester, has appointed ex-Lambert Smith Hampton head of funding and residential development, Nick Mullins, as development director.

Mullins has more than 17 years experience in the sector.

Alongside this acquisition, the firm have also promoted three existing staff members.

Rob Peill and Frank Taylor have been promoted to head of offices and industrial.

Alex Russell who joined the company in 2014 has been promoted to managing director.

He said: “Nick’s vast experience has seen him act for developers, local authorities and major investors on a broad range of schemes spanning all sectors.

“This knowledge and expertise, particularly of new funding structures and opportunities, will be a great asset to our team as we seek to expand our residential portfolio throughout the UK,” said Russell, commenting on the appointment of Nick Mullins.

“Rob and Frank have been with Alliance for four and five years now and have worked closely with our advisers on a number of big wins for the company.

“They now have the task of growing our commercial portfolio over the course of this year as we are actively seeking new opportunities across the region.”

The property development and investment company has a portfolio value of £240m together with a nationwide development programme.

Mobile phone company UNSHACKLED.com, based in the Northern Quarter of Manchester, has appointed two new tech dynamos to strengthen its digital team.

Eleanor Wheeler joins from online fast-fashion retailer Boohoo.com, where she spent the last four years as a performance marketing manager. Wheeler will work as a digital strategist to strengthen the firm’s market position.

She said: “It’s amazing to join a business that is challenging the status quo at the start of its journey. My role will be centred around reaching the business’ commercial objectives through strategic activity across all digital channels.
 
“We’ve already set-up key partnerships and are seeing impact from campaigns.”

Her new colleague, Riven Alyx Buckley, joins as a content and community manager to take the lead in content generation and social media.

Buckley said: “UNSHACKLED.com has quickly defined a distinctive brand voice, so now it’s about using that voice to build momentum alongside our advertising campaign.

“I think there’s going to be a revolution in favour of the customer in the mobile market and we’ll be at the core of this.”

The business was co-founded by Phones4u’s former chief commercial officer, John Whittle, ex-chief financial officer John Morris and ex-chief legal officer Steven Lloyd launched in early 2016.

Chorley-based financial advice firm, True Bearing, has recruited three staff as part of its current expansion.

Brian Wallace joins the legal services team in its second year, after being launched in January 2015, as a barrister intermediary.

On the financial advice team, Monica Harrison and Lauren Holderness have joined; Harrison as an independent financial adviser and Holderness as an advisor assistant.

Harrison said: “I am really excited to be working with True Bearing. They have an excellent reputation for providing clients with an exceptional range of services and support, I hope my appointment will help continue this trend.”

Integrated property services firm Styles & Wood, based in Sale, Greater Manchester, has appointed Ian Wilson as managing director of Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) software.

Wilson has over 27 years’ experience in the financial services industry, previously working at Pancredit, Sopra Group and Hitec Laboratories.

He will support the company in the diversification of its suite of products to improve client efficiency, compliance and mitigation against risk.

Stockport accountants Booth Ainsworth LLP has hired Don Bancroft, formerly of BDO, to support and develop their corporate service.

The firm currently employs 86 team members in its team of accountants and business advisers which specialises in the legal, dental and charity sectors.

Bancroft moved from London to Manchester in 1998 and is also a trustee and treasurer of The Gaddum Centre, working with children, adults and families to help them secure a better future.

He said: “The culture will complement my value of working in a team to get the job done. My appointment is part of the firms’ wider strategy to grow and further strengthen its corporate capability across the North West, and illustrate its commitment to SME businesses in the area.”

Commercial law firm, Bermans, which has offices in both Liverpool and Manchester, has appointed Andrew Koffman as a partner in its litigation and dispute resolution team.

Arriving from Saleh’s Solicitors, Koffman has over 30 years’ experience in property litigation, shareholder and partnership disputes, contract disputes and litigation for secured lenders.

His appointment is part of a recruitment drive within the corporate team in Manchester.
