Developer gets go-ahead for former employment scheme at former colliery

Network Space has secured outline planning consent on the former Ashtons Field Colliery, a 14-acre development site in Salford, close to the M61.

The consent provides for up to 200,000sq ft of new employment floor space and will be promoted to provide a flexible and market facing industrial warehouse scheme which is well positioned to serve the Greater Manchester conurbation.

Network Space Developments managing director Stephen Barnes said: “The site with can accommodate a wide range of industrial warehouse requirements including up to 200,000sq ft in a single unit.

“We are currently working closely with Salford City Council, the HCA and other partners to ensure that the site can be brought forward as quickly as possible whilst responding to market interest through our agents Jones Lang LaSalle and LM6.”
