Business Masters judging panel revealed

FIVE leading business figures, including two previous winners, make up the prestigious panel of judges for the 2017 North West Business Masters Awards.

The awards, which recognise excellence, achievement, enterprise and entrepreneurship, take will place at the Midland Hotel in Manchester on April 6.

The independent judges are:

North West Business Masters 2015

Want That Trend, an online fashion retailer with a turnover of £7m in its first year,  was the winner of the Newcomer category at last year’s Masters Awards, while the Monastery won the Pride Award, for an outstanding contribution to its local community in 2015.

Joanne Birtwistle, editor of TheBusinessDesk.com in the North West said: “Interest in the Masters is high. Having received a record number of entries this year, we know there are some fantastic potential winners out there, so it’s great to be able to announce such a strong line-up of judges.

“All are hugely experienced across a range of sectors and will be able to give clarity and objectivity to the process and I am sure the 2017 Masters will be a great event.”

Nominations for the Masters Awards are now closed, with judging taking place this Friday. The shortlist for each category will be announced next week.

The categories are:

Business Master in Fast Growth Business

Business Master in Contributing to the Community

Business Master in Professional Services

Business Master – SME (up to 250 employees)

Business Master – Large Business (251+ employees)

Business Master – Newcomer

Business Master – Employer of the Year

Business Master – Ambassador of the Year

Around 500 people are expected to attend the awards, which will begin with cocktails and culminate in a post-event party.
