Primary healthcare firm acquires nearby medical centre

A Greater Manchester provider of primary healthcare services has acquired a nearby medical centre.

GP Care Services which provides services for Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale Clinical Commissioning Group has bought The Village Medical Centre in Littleborough.

Bury-based law firm Clough & Willis brokered the deal, which was for an undisclosed sum.

Its partner David Leviten handled the commercial property aspects of the deal while Guy Lachlan – associate corporate commercial solicitor at the firm – provided company and commercial law advice.
 
Negotiations were conducted with the local clinical commissioning group, the Care Quality Commission and NHS England for the two-stage handover for an undisclosed sum.
 
Financial and accounting advice was provided to GP Care Services by Peter Carlin at Thompson Jones. Funding was provided through Wayne Dixon at Barclays in Oldham.  

The seller was represented by Lisa Geary and Ruth Griffiths at Capsticks and by Ramsay Brown & Partners for financial and accounting advice.
