Lettings Latest: Cash Converters and William Hill move into Birkenhead centre; and more

LANDLORD Warner Estate has agreed deals with 13 new retailers for lettings at its Grange and Pyramids shopping centre at Birkenhead town centre.

The firm said that the new deals equate to 30,000 sq ft of space at the development. New tenants have included Cash Converters, William Hill, accessories retailer Hairtrendz and a new restaurant known as Flaming Fajitas.

Rebecca Young, asset manager for Warner Estate, said: “We are delighted to be welcoming such a wide range of new stores to Birkenhead, broadening and developing the diverse line-up of shops that the town boasts.

“It is important to maintain a mix of local independents and national chains in the heart of the town centre and with this selection of lettings, which also includes Hawkins Bazaar, Book Clearance, fashion retailer Glance and computer store CEX, we are doing just that.”

The Pyramids and Grange Shopping Centre existing line-up includes Marks & Spencer, Republic, River Island, Next, WHSmith, Peacocks and The Body Shop along with around 20 cafes, eateries and restaurants.

COMMERCIAL property adviser CB Richard Ellis North West has let 8,000 sq ft on behalf of the Benmore Group to language school A2Z English in Manchester.

The refurbished property, 75 Mosley Street, has been let on a 5-year lease.

The building is now fully occupied following a series of lettings over the past 12 months to companies including Remploy and Scanlans.

Nick Nelson, surveyor in the Office Agency team at CBRE North West, said: “Since our instruction a year ago alongside P3 Property Consultants, we have successfully completed three new lettings totalling 16,500 sq ft to achieve a fully let building for our client, the Benmore Group.

“This is evidence that there remains healthy demand for competitively priced, good quality refurbished office accommodation in buildings that offer prime location and flexible lease terms.”

David Burrows, chief executive of Benmore Group, added: “The full occupation of this property is a reflection of the quality of the design and specification and demonstrates that demand exists for the right kinds of property so long as developers ensure their projects are commercially viable and realistic.”

CB Richard Ellis acted on behalf of landlord Benmore Group. P3 Property Consultants is the joint agent.
