Paver Smith cuts four staff

LIVERPOOL and Manchester public relations firm Paver Smith has made four staff redundant as it reacts to the loss of public sector contracts.
Company director Jon Brown said the company was forced to make the move after losing jobs with the Learning and Skills Council and Building Schools for the Future.
It has affected an account handler, two public relations people and one administrative worker. The cuts represent 13% of the 30-strong team.
Mr Brown said: “We’re just managing our costs. That’s it basically, we’re very confident about the business pipeline going forward.”
He said one person from the accounts department had left to go freelance taking staff numbers down to 25.
