theEword appoints Sheffield as chairman

SPECIALIST search agency theEword has recruited Manchester technology entrepreneur Chris Sheffield as its new chairman.

Sheffield, who has successfully sold a number of technology and gaming companies, including Manchester-based Eunite Group and Million-2-1, will play a strategic role in theEword’s business development plan, helping to identity and support future growth opportunities.

Al Mackin, MD at theEword, and creative director Tom Glass, said: “Chris has a long track record of success with companies which specialise in new media and technology.

“This synergy of experience, alongside his history of growing businesses made him the perfect choice for theEword and we are delighted to be able to draw on his knowledge and business skills.”

Sheffield, who will begin his role immediately, added: “The potential within theEword was obvious and so made my choice to join an easy one. It’s a really exciting time to be joining the company and I’m looking forward to growing with them.”
