Some of the key highlights in our North West practice over the last 12 months include:

• PwC in the North West grew turnover to over £115m reflecting growth of 8% for the year ending 30 June 2008.
• Growth was particularly strong in corporate finance (38%) and performance improvement consulting (35%).
• The firm's practice in the region has 70 partners and directors and over 850 staff, based in offices in Manchester and Liverpool.
• PwC was named The Times number one top employer for the fifth year running and over 50 new graduates joined in the region. The firm also added four new directors to the region.

We are proud of our links with the wider community, and support a number of different associations and organisations in the region. Across our three offices in the North West we have developed a proactive community affairs program focused on creative and active partnerships in the communities where we have a presence.

Ongoing projects include Volunteer Reading Help, Young Enterprise and businessdynamics. As part of our ongoing support for business in the community we are also involved with a number of action days in Manchester and Liverpool.  Over the last year PwC has supported a number of local organisations including Wood Street Mission, Liverpool Compact and Barnardo’s.

The firm also continued its community partnership with the Royal Exchange Theatre and was reaccredited with a Business in the Community Big Tick Award for its work with the theatre.
