PRO.MANCHESTER is hoping to hit the right note with the Lord Mayor of the City of London when he visits Manchester next month.
The professional services body has joined forces with one of the UK’s leading chamber orchestras, Manchester Camerata, which will play a recital at his welcome reception on November 20.
Pro.manchester is also the sponsor of a new Camerata CD launched this month. The disc is Camerata music director Douglas Boyd’s interpretation of Beethoven’s 4th and 7th Symphonies and the first of a series of releases featuring the composer’s entire symphonic cycle.
Chief executive of Pro.manchester Daniel Mouawad said: “What better way to mark the visit of the Mayor of the City of London than a captivating showcase from Manchester’s finest cultural ambassadors? It promises to be a spectacular occasion.”
“Rob Shaw, Manchester Camerata’s head of development, added: “We are absolutely delighted about this alliance.
“As the only one of Manchester’s great orchestras to carry the city’s name in its title, it is particularly fitting that we should partner with another organisation so committed to raising the profile of this wonderful city across the UK and beyond.”
