Clarke Willmott is a national law firm with its head office situated in the centre of Birmingham. The firm has four other offices across the country and over 70 Partners operating throughout the country. Other offices include Bristol, Taunton, Southampton and London.

The firm was started in 1888 when Charles Peard Clarke established the firm in the south west. Since then the firm has developed both in turnover, personal and geographical areas of interest. The firm covers a wide range of legal services for both commercial businesses and private client.

Clarke Willmott started a Birmingham office in December 2005 and in 2008 the firm made the Birmingham office its head quarters, where David Sedgwick (CEO) is now based. Clarke Willmott has historically had a strong property focus over the years.

The firm has invested in building existing practice areas which is fuelled by its sector market approach including: retail, sport, agriculture, renewable, real estate and private client.

To date, Clarke Willmott has created over 200 jobs for the region and taken the lead on new legal industry areas such as personal Islamic finance and sports law. Most recently the firm has forged very strong links with firms in both China and India and has embarked in several exchange visits as it continues to enhance far eastern business relationships with the Birmingham business community.

The firms' expansion has seen it described as the most ambitious of the next generation of national firms. Clarke Willmott is not led by any particular service, but client led, a strategic resolve which has paid off handsomely with a strong reputation in its core sectors.
