Sanguine ready for rebirth of city centre tower
WORK is ready to start next month on a new 285-bedroom hotel in central Birmingham – the largest in the chain’s Europe operations.
The derelict Cumberland House tower, in Broad Street, will undergo a £30m transformation into a Hampton by Hilton hotel by Liverpool-based company Sanguine Hospitality. An artist’s impression is below.
The hotel is scheduled for completion in summer 2012 following an 18-month refurbishment and joins other Hampton by Hiltons in Shrewsbury and Star City, Birmingham.
It will be run by Sanguine which owns and operates a fast growing portfolio of hotel and restaurant venues across the UK.
There will also be meeting facilities for up to 30 delegates, a gym and free wi-fi throughout public areas and bedrooms.
