Palletline rides surge in manufacturing exports

PALLET delivery service Palletline Logistics (Midlands) has said its business is benefiting from the export-led improvement in the manufacturing sector.

The Birmingham based firm said business was picking up across Europe, where it delivers to 27 EU countries.

The firm, which employs 60 at its base in Bromford Lane, is backed by Yorkshire Bank’s Financial Solutions Centre (FSC) in Birmingham and is now looking to grow its operations on the strength of its improved European profile.

Nigel Wood, Yorkshire Bank’s business banking partner, said Birmingham was a great place in which to base a logistics operation and Palletline was benefiting from this.

“Palletline Logistics has spotted a gap in a competitive market to deliver goods to every single EU country,” he said.

“Exporting is an area that more manufacturers, distributers and retailers are looking towards which not only expands their own businesses but also puts our economy on a more level playing field in terms of importing and exporting.

“That means they need a reliable company to meet their distribution needs and Palletline Logistics has the technology and expertise to ensure safe arrival whether that is sending pallets to Luton or Latvia.”

Bob Russett, Palletline managing director, said the firm’s continental traffic and storage service operations were both growing arms of the business.

“UK businesses export throughout Europe and when we were looking to grow our business, we decided to offer a one-stop service for companies that export to all 27 countries in the EU,” he said.

“Some pallet delivery service companies go to the more popular countries in western Europe but there are very few that head to all EU member states.

“Trading in Europe is very reliant on UK exports which are starting to pick up and that has a positive knock-on effect on the volume of business we deal with.”
