The Addams Family
Birmingham Hippodrome – June 6 – 10

Everybody’s favourite kooky family are arriving on stage this June. Wednesday Addams is all grown up and has a shocking secret; she has fallen in love with a sweet young man from a respectable family. But how will the two families cope with a fateful dinner with hilarious consequences. This heart-warming story, with a twist, will also see Uncle Fester, played by Les Dennis and Morticia, played by Samantha Womack take to the stage.

Oliver! The Musical
The Crescent Theatre – May 27 – June 3
Charles Dicken’s classic tale of Oliver will arrive at Birmingham’s Crescent Theatre in late May. The show will bring the story we all know and love to life and will feature songs Food Glorious Food, Consider Yourself, You’ve Got to Pick-A-Pocket or Two, I’d Do Anything and many more. There will also be a discussion following the performance on Friday June 2.

All or Nothing
New Alexandra Theatre – April 4 – 8

A phenomenon hit British streets in 1964; it was Mod. Mod’s were working-class free spirits and rode Vespas and Lambrettas. All or Nothing is the ultimate ‘Mod’ musical that celebrates the sound of iconic Mod band The Small Faces. The musical will feature the bands very best hits, including Whatcha Gonna Do About It, Lazy Sunday and of course, All or Nothing.

La Strada
The REP – May 8 – 13

Oscar-winning La Strada comes to the stage in this new adaptation with a new score. La Strada tells the tale of love and loss and the show at The REP is set to take you to the heart of the Italian countryside where Gelsomina is bought by travelling street performer Zampano. When the pair come across a circus and a daredevil tight-rope walker, Gelsomina finds herself caught between the two men.

Funny Girl
Birmingham Hippodrome – May 8 – 13

This iconic musical tells the story of Fanny Brice, whose vocal talents and comedic ability see her rise from Brooklyn music hall singer to Broadway star. Starring Sheridan Smith, who has had incredible success from the likes of Mrs Biggs, Cilla and Gavin & Stacey, Funny Girl boasts some of the most iconic songs in theatre history, including People and Don’t Rain On My Parade.

My Country; a work in progress
The REP – May 16 – 20
This ground-breaking new play by Carol Ann Duffy aims to give voices to those who feel like they have no voice. In the days following the Brexit vote, the National Theatre spoke to people nationwide to hear their views on the country we call home. The debate is passionate and asks the question, can there ever be a United Kingdom?

Legally Blonde
The Old Rep Theatre – May 25 – 27

Birmingham Youth On Stage is bringing Legally Blonde to stage in May. The story follows Elle Woods, whose life is turned upside down when her boyfriend dumps here, despite her appearing to have it all. Determined to get him back, Elle follows him to Harvard Law and soon realises she has a lot more potential than she thought she did.

The Crucible
New Alexandra Theatre – June 5 – 10
The terrifying tale of The Crucible begins with a group of young girls who are discovered dancing in the woods trying to conjure spirits. The small New England town are told the devil and witchcraft is in their midst and they soon find themselves caught up in paranoia as manipulation personal grievances collide with lust and superstition. No one is safe in the town. The play stars Coronation Street’s Charlie Condou and Call the Midwife’s Victoria Yeates.

Tommy
The REP – May 17 – 27

The Who’s Tommy, a multi-award winning rock musical written by Pete Townshend, is bringing a cast of 22 performers and musicians to stage to tell the story of the pinball-playing boy. Based on the iconic 1969 album, Tommy is a one of a kind show which has been reborn for a new generation.
