Harris Lamb completes Droitwich deal as demand continues to outstrip supply

A car repair business has expanded after acquiring new premises in Worcestershire.

Hall Brothers, which already occupies 2 North Street on the North Street Industrial Estate in Droitwich, has grown by acquiring Unit 34 on the same estate.

Harris Lamb had been instructed at the end of last year to sell the 660 sq ft unit.

Steve Fisher, of Harris Lamb’s Worcester office, said a shortage of commercial space had seen the unit attract a lot of interest.

“There are very few decent freehold sites on the market in the area, and offers quickly exceeded the £70,000 guide price,” he said.

“After a number of enquiries and offers, we closed the sale with Hall Brothers.”

Mr Fisher said the property shortage had seen industrial rents remaining high. Nevertheless, the market remained buoyant.

“Rents on industrial sites remain high due to the increasing demand for commercial property within Worcestershire, and with those remaining business parks with availability quickly filling up and enquiries outstripping supply, it’s not surprising that opportunities to buy quality units on a freehold basis are met with such enthusiasm,” he said.

The deal is the latest Harris Lamb has overseen in Worcestershire in recent weeks, following the letting of the final three units at West Court, Bromsgrove, the letting of the South Wing of Guildhall in Worcester to Quikplan and securing the five-year lease of premises at Malvern Hills Science Park on behalf of BetaTec Hop Products.
