Funding deal sparks growth for electrical installation firm

Dunfra Solutions

A Birmingham electrical installation firm is relocating to larger premises after securing a six-figure funding deal.

Dunfra Solutions, which serves the commercial, industrial and domestic installation markets, has received £131,500 from Santander Corporate & Commercial to purchase a new headquarters in Aston.

The business was originally started by Michael Fraser and Duncan Watkins, both electrical engineers, in 2014. It has grown rapidly and now has six members of staff and has completed installations with major UK businesses including Costco and House of Fraser.

The move to Tamworth from its former base at Vincent Court, Aston Lock, offers the firm the capacity to almost double its workforce to 11 people over the next 12 months.

The extra space will enable the firm to host client meetings with larger corporate firms.

Mr Fraser said: “We have enjoyed a successful three years of trading as a small operation and are now ready to enter a new phase of growth. The premises will provide us with much needed space to house equipment and, importantly, allow us to expand our workforce.”

Chris Gagg, Relationship Director, Santander Corporate & Commercial said: “Michael and Duncan are entrepreneurs who set up the business from scratch, having identified an opportunity to combine their skillset and provide a high standard of service to their customers – as evidenced by the firm’s blue chip client base.

“The new site in Tamworth will help them to obtain a greater market share as they negotiate larger contracts and we look forward to working with them as they achieve their ambitions.”
