5 things to do in the West Midlands this weekend

Diversity
Head along to the Barclaycard Arena on Saturday night to enjoy Diversity on stage. The group, which includes leader and choreographer Ashley Banjo, Jordan Banjo and Perri Kiely, have come a long way since they won Britain’s Got Talent back in 2009 and will be bringing their most up to date and exciting routines to date to the arena. Sunny Afternoon
Head back to the swinging 60s whilst enjoying Sunny Afternoon, the musical based on The Kinks, at Wolverhampton Grand Theatre this weekend. Follow the story of how The Kinks rose to stardom, from the beginnings and their Top of the Pops debut to their American tour and their comeback. The musical features iconic hits from Waterloo Sunset, Lola, You Really Got Me and of course, Sunny Afternoon. Find out more here.

St. George’s Day at Tamworth Castle
St. George’s Day will be celebrated this weekend at Tamworth Castle. The day will include living history at the Castle, where visitors will be able to play Medieval games. The whole gang will also be able to learn more about Medieval weaponry and armour, join in with archery and activities as well as witnessing a Medieval joust and a living history encampment. Lord of the Dance
Michael Flatley’s Lord of the Dance: Dangerous Games will take to the stage this weekend at Birmingham’s Symphony Hall. Celebrating 20 years since he debuted Lord of the Dance, the show, which has been produced, choreographed and directed by Michael Flatley, will star his protégés James Keegan, Morgan Comer and Mathew Smith in the role of the Lord of the Dance. Ken Dodd
The one and only Ken Dodd is taking to the stage at the New Alexandra Theatre in Birmingham this weekend. The comedian and national treasure, who has been entertaining audiences for a lifetime, will be performing songs from Opera to ballads alongside plenty of jokes and laughs. Find out more here.
