Summer is on the way, finally, which means that we can start exploring the city after work and on weekends.

Although Original Patty Men, which is located in Shaw’s Passage, only opened in December 2015, it hasn’t stopped the super cool restaurant being a firm favourite amongst local Instagrammers. In 2016, the venue racked up an impressive 1,228 geotags, with pictures including everything from the restaurant’s industrial decor to its massive burgers. The venue is open from Thursday to Sunday each week.

Purnell’s

Michelin starred Birmingham chef Glynn Purnell opened Purnell’s on Corwall Street in July 2007, and even with his other restaurant and cocktail bar just round the corner on Newhall Street, the original restaurant is still a popular venue, especially among the Instagram community. An impressive 1,628 people geotagged themselves there in 2016.

It is safe to say that the Library of Birmingham has become one of the city’s most iconic buildings since its opening in 2013. In fact, it is by far the most Instagrammed location in the city, with 5,653 geotags at the venue in 2016. But we can’t say we are surprised, the library is the largest public library in the UK and the largest public cultural space in Europe – impressive.

Bistrot Pierre

Bistrot Pierre on Gas Street may have only opened in Summer 2016, but the venue has became one of the most Instagrammed restaurants in the city in no time. In 2016, 2,054 geotagged themselves at the venue, which offers a great view of Birmingham’s canal system.
