£1m shared workspace scheme launches in Birmingham

Alpha Works

A first-of-its-kind co-working space has formally opened in Birmingham city centre.

The £1m Alpha Works scheme is already home to seven companies, employing more than 100 people in total.

The concept has been delivered and is managed by, property company CEG. It consists of more than 14,000 sq ft of collaborative office space in the Alpha Birmingham building, formerly Alpha Tower.

CEG believes the facility’s unique proposition, quality and location has enabled it to attract the diverse collection of businesses – which comprise 75% of the scheme’s total capacity – ahead of its launch.

Firms signing up to the hub include international service provider Allegis Global Solutions, hotel and luxury project management firm Emerald Project Management, business growth support programme Get Set for Growth, international education software and services company Tribal Education, planning, regeneration and development consultancy Nexus Planning, corporate communications agency Pearl Comms and global mobile device management platform Pervacio.

Alpha Works offers a range of options for its members including hot desks, private offices and flexible workspaces.

The hub’s contemporary styled design has been conceived by award-winning architects ORMS. It has brought a range of unique features to the site including a double height reception and event space, breakout areas and fully equipped meeting rooms with wireless screens.

Members also benefit from superfast broadband/Wi-Fi, a community social media platform, competitive rates and with a position on the 21st and 22nd floors of the building – a near unrivalled free view of the city.
