A Warwick property database company has expanded as it looks to cope with increased demand for its services.

Nimbus Property has recruited seven new members of staff and moved to a larger office within the University of Warwick Science Park’s Warwick Innovation Centre.

The company, which was launched 18 months ago, holds the largest private database of property information for England and Wales, containing 32 million addresses and 27 million registered titles.

Its clients include retailers, property developers and care home developers.

Nimbus is a spin-out company of an existing business based at the science park. As the business began to grow it tapped into the park’s Business Ready programme for additional support.

This resulted in it taking on a business development manager, sales director, software developer, marketing manager, sponsoring PHDs and two digital marketing apprentices. The firm is also looking to recruit more staff in the future.

Dirk Schafer, project manager of Warwick Science Park said: “Our incubation programme was ideal for Nimbus as it separated their two very different business activities. This gave them a really good starting point to help them exploit their Big Data technology.”

Simon Davis, of Nimbus Property, said: “Our first 18 months have been extremely successful and we have built up a client-base which includes some very high-profile organisations.

“The University of Warwick Science Park has been very supportive and helped facilitate this growth, allowing us to move into a larger office to accommodate our expansion.”

A2 Abbey Industrial Estate, Coventry

A Coventry industrial estate has been fully let following a string of expansions and new tenancy deals.

The Abbey Industrial Estate, situated in the Wyken/Walsgrave area of the city, occupies around 30,000 sq ft.

Sign Shoppe, a road haulage firm, and KR Saws, a circular saw supplier, have both expanded their operations on the estate while the West Midlands Ambulance Service, Link Mailing and Ryona Engineering Supplies have all recently moved in.

Commercial property agents D&P Holt acted jointly with CBRE to negotiate the lettings on behalf of an investment pension fund.

Rupert Gillitt, of D&P Holt, said: “There are some great stats out there about Coventry’s economy. It is growing and, according to the Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce’s latest survey it looks set to continue that way for some time.

“What’s great about the success at Abbey Industrial Estate is that it is a real-life story that backs up those hard facts and there’s now a diverse range of businesses and operations on the industrial estate.”
