IT specialist acquired as buyer looks to expand UK and European presence

Bromsgrove IT firm, Prestige Data Centre Solutions, has been acquired by a London-based data centre specialist looking to expand its UK and European presence.

Park Place Technologies, which has its headquarters in the United States, provides global IT infrastructure support to firms ranging from SMEs to Fortune 500 companies.

The acquisition of Prestige DCS, the terms of which have not been disclosed, is Park Place’s second acquisition in the UK following the purchase of London-based Com-Com in September 2016.  It said the acquisition of Prestige would allow it to enhance its data centre service across the EMEA region, having previously opened its European headquarters in London in May 2015.

Prestige DCS, which has been in business for more than 25 years, has invested in strategic partnerships with leading industry vendors to allow it to deliver data centre support services.

The deal will see Prestige’s co-Founders, John and Elaine Dawson, James Coyle, and Mark Jones all exit the business.

Mr Dawson said: “Elaine, James, Mark, and I have full confidence in leaving Prestige in the capable hands of Park Place.  With Park Place, Prestige will be able to continue to grow to the next level and deliver the best service for IT data centres around the world.”

Ed Kenty, chairman and CEO of Park Place Technologies, said: “I welcome the Prestige team to the Park Place family. Prestige’s nearly three decades of exemplary IT data centre service will complement Park Place’s world-class support model as we expand and grow our client base throughout the UK, Europe, and beyond.”
