Tile retailer, Tile Mountain, has completed its move to a new £10m purpose-built head office and distribution centre in Stoke-on-Trent.

The move to the five-acre site in Tunstall was supported by a seven-figure funding package from Royal Bank of Scotland.

The online company needed the bricks and mortar expansion due to the strong growth of the business.

The 120,000 sq ft building comprises warehousing, showroom and office space and will give the firm the space it needs to accommodate further expansion.

Established in 2013, Tile Mountain is run by two of the company’s original founders, former owner of Tile Giant, Mo Iqbal and ex-Topps Tiles commercial director, Jeremy Harris.

Tile Mountain is one of the fastest growing online tile retailers. The company has experienced growth of 60% year-on-year for the last three years and has set out plans to create 70 new jobs over the next three years as a result.

The RBS funding enabled the firm to develop and purchase the new premises, and meet the relocation costs associated with the move.

Jeremy Harris, managing director of Tile Mountain, said: “We are thrilled with the new site.  It has been specifically designed to meet our growing business needs and has enabled us to greatly improve our operational efficiency.”

Steve Jackson, relationship director at Royal Bank of Scotland, said:  “I am pleased that we have been able to support Tile Mountain with funding for the new premises.  The business is growing rapidly and the new facility is much better suited to the companies changing needs.”
