A Warwickshire firm that supplies mechanical screening to the mining and aggregates sector has trebled capacity with a move to new headquarters.

Screening Consultancy & Supplies (SCS) in Rugby has expanded from its previous 8,000 sq ft facility to new premises extending to 24,000 sq ft.

The 25-year-old firm specialises in supplying synthetic screening media and linings to the extractive industries.

In addition to its relocation, the firm has also expanded its vehicle fleet in an effort to improve the efficiency of its service.

It has taken delivery of two new vans, a Mercedes Sprinter and a Ford Transit, from fleet management supplier Lex Autolease, which has a base in Birmingham.

Mark Martin, general manager of SCS, said: “We supply predominantly into the British Irish quarrying industries, and with the growth in housing and infrastructure, we have seen demand steadily increase over the past few years.

“We’ve been able to capitalise on this by providing a quick and reliable service to our customers. They have quite complex needs, and we’ve built a strong reputation by making sure we manufacture, supply and install the right products to meet their exacting standards and timescales.

“Much of this is down to getting deliveries to customers quickly and being able to provide installation support at site, which depends on our vans being on the road and fit-for-purpose.”

Mr Martin said the Ford Transit would be used to collect supplies and deliver materials to customers, whereas the Mercedes Sprinter was a fully equipped mobile workshop offering on-site support.

The deal represents a milestone for Lex Autolease, part of Lloyds Banking Group, as it means it now has 100,000 vans on its fleet.
