MG growth supported with opening of new £1m dealership

The £1m MG dealership in Maidstone

Longbridge-based car company MG has seen its UK dealer network expand further with the opening of a new £1m showroom.

Maidstone MG has invested in the new 5,00 sq ft facility in order to display the Chinese-owned manufacturer’s expanded product range.

It will be displaying the MG3 supermini and the new MG GS, the brand’s first SUV. A compact version of the SUV, the MG XS – unveiled at the London Motor Show earlier in May – is also expected in showrooms at the end of the year.

While no longer producing in Britain, the company is still keen to trade on the Britishness of the brand.

It is also keen to expand the dealer network as wide as possible so that potential buyers are within easy travel distance of a garage.

Maidstone MG joined the MG network in 2015 and was recently recognised as a top performing dealership at MG’s annual dealer conference.

The opening of the new premises comes as part of the dealer’s long-term strategy.

Danial Brann, sales manager at Maidstone MG, said: “We believe the key to running a successful car dealership is simple – a great product, supported by excellent customer service. This simple mix has helped to grow our business significantly over the past three years, culminating in the opening of a new showroom.”

Matthew Cheyne, Head of Sales and Marketing at MG Motor UK, added: “As one of the network’s top-performers, Maidstone MG is well-known across Kent and the surrounding areas. We wish Danial and the team every success for the launch of their new showroom.”
