Walsall-based home maintenance group HomeServe has renewed a shirt sponsorship deal with the town’s football club.

The company has agreed to be the principal partner of the League One side for the next five years.

The deal will see the club’s new 2017/18 shirt, which will be unveiled in June, adorned with HomeServe branding on the front and back as well as other itinerary.

HomeServe Membership, which employs 1,700 people at its headquarters in Cable Drive, Walsall, and a further 1,500 around the UK, has backed the Bescot Stadium club since 2014.

The new deal will run until the end of the 2021/22 season, taking HomeServe’s support to eight years and making it the firm’s longest ever community sponsorship commitment.

“This deal cements our dedication to supporting a football club that is woven into the fabric of our home town,” said HomeServe Membership chief marketing officer Greg Reed.

“We’ve been based in Walsall for over 20 years and we’re passionate about investing in local business and giving something back to our community. It’s important to us and it’s a huge part of who we are.

“This club is the heartbeat of our community and its family-focused ethos makes it a perfect partner for HomeServe.”

Walsall finished the 2016/17 season in 14th place but Stefan Gamble, the club’s chief executive, said the side was hoping for better things next season.

“HomeServe and Walsall FC have enjoyed an incredibly close and successful relationship over the past three years and it’s good to know that we have the unwavering and continued support of the town’s biggest employer. This gives us the confidence that we’ve got a bright future ahead of us both on and off the pitch,” said Mr Gamble.
