Former BT offices placed on the market for £3m

Telecom House

The former home of BT in Wolverhampton has been placed on the market with an asking price of almost £3m.

Telecom House, a self-contained office building on Church Street is currently owned by Telereal Trillium, which has appointed Harris Lamb to market the property.

The property is the largest office disposal within the city for some time.

Telereal is targeting investors looking to capitalise on the residential potential of the building, especially with it being situated close to the University of Wolverhampton.

The 84,876 sq ft property, which has a guide price of £2,950,000, could be capable of conversion to apartments.

An application been submitted to the City of Wolverhampton Council for 47 one-bedroom and 53 two-bed apartments.
Tom Morley, director, Harris Lamb, said the firm had already received a lot of enquiries about the building.

“This property has a massive amount of potential. It fronts the ring road St Johns in Wolverhampton city centre, placing it within easy walking distance of the centre’s leisure and retail offering, and with immediate access to all major routes,” he said.

“The six-story building, which is serviced by three lifts, is suited to a number of uses and a change to residential use is allowed under permitted development rights. With the Wolverhampton university campus being just half a mile away, there is also potential to convert the building to student accommodation.

“Based on early enquiry levels, we anticipate that the property will be snapped up by investors or developers within a relatively short space of time.”

The office is complete with 70 car parking spaces.
