Hat-trick of appointments as law firm grows at expense of rivals

New recruits at Lodders, from left: John Rouse, Nicole Romera and Vicky Khandker

Law firm Lodders has raided its Midland rivals to boost its own private client and corporate teams with a trio of new appointments.

The coup has seen the firm hire John Rouse, Vicky Khandker and Nicole Romera, who all be based at Lodders’ Warwickshire office in Stratford upon Avon.

An experienced wills, tax and trusts lawyer, Mr Rouse joins the firm’s Private Client team as a partner, after 17 years at Leamington Spa firm Wright Hassall, where he had been a partner since 2004. He is well known as a leading advisor to entrepreneurs, business owners, high net worth individuals and farmers, on matters including estate, tax and succession planning.

Property litigation specialist Vicky Khandker joins Lodders’ Dispute Resolution team as Senior Associate from the Wilkes Partnership in Birmingham, where she has spent the past ten years, most recently as Senior Associate specialising in all aspects of property disputes with a particular focus on commercial landlord and tenant. She has also worked at Geldards.

The firm’s third new hire, Nicole Romera, joins as a solicitor in Lodders Corporate & Commercial team.

She is a specialist in corporate and commercial transactional and contracts work and has moved to Lodders after 14 years at Brethertons Solicitors, where she worked in its litigation, commercial property and company commercial teams at its Banbury and Bicester offices.

Lodders said the recruitment drive was part of its strategy to secure further growth.

Martin Green, the firm’s senior partner, said: “Lodders continues to achieve sustained growth.  We have already made five senior appointments across our office network so far this year, and boosted our family law expertise with our merger with Divorce and Family Law Practice (DFLP), one of Birmingham’s leading family and divorce legal practice.

“The hire of John Rouse represents a heavyweight addition to our Private Client practice, which is one of the largest in the region and remains number one in the Legal 500 and Chambers UK, for its advice. John’s expertise and knowledge, especially of the agricultural sector, rural and farming communities, are a perfect fit for the firm and our clients.”

Lodders has offices in Warwickshire, the West Midlands, Cheltenham, the North Cotswolds, and Gloucestershire. The firm has 25 partners and over 130 fee earners and support staff.
