8 things the kids can do this summer in the West Midlands

There is no need for the kids to complain that they are bored over the summer holidays, here is what they can get up to on their doorstep over the six weeks.

The Big Sleuth
Spend a day or two discovering the bears that have taken over Birmingham this summer. The bears are in both the city centre, as well as the likes of Solihull and Dudley and the best thing is that you can start and end anywhere. PAW Patrol Live is coming to Birmingham’s Barclaycard Arena this summer. Based on the hugely successful Nickelodeon TV series, everybody’s favourite pups will bring an action-packed musical adventure to the stage for the first time. Find out more here.

Summer events at mac
Birmingham’s mac is hosting events for kids every single day this summer. The activities are for early years right through to late teen’s, meaning you can take the whole gang along. From textile and pottery to photography, writing classes, stand-up comedy and even lessons on making a radio show, there is something to please everyone at mac. Find out more here.

Teddy Bears Picnic
Bubbenhall Wood and Meadow in Coventry will be hosts to a teddy bears picnic this summer. The session will begin with the tale of Goldilocks and the Three Bears before making porridge and making a special home for the teddies to go to sleep. Kids can take their own teddy bears, but there will also be plenty to go around at the venue. Find out more here.

Dinosaurs in the Wild
The 70-minute adventure at Birmingham’s NEC will transport families back over 60 million years and give visitors the chance to see dinosaurs as they have never before. The event is the first of its kind in the UK and has been created by the team behind Walking with Dinosaurs. Find out more here.

Billionaire Boy
David Walliamsbook Billionaire Boy has been adapted for the outdoor stage and will be on at venues across the West Midlands, including Worcestershire County Museum, Ragley Hall, The Charterhouse and Bueton Park. The story follows Mr Spud and his son Joe, who are inviting you to their garage sale. However, Joe soon becomes the richest boy in the world. Find out more here.

Engine House Fun Days

Taking place on Wednesday’s throughout August, the Engine House days at the Severn Valley Railway will include a range of themed activities, including exhibitions, an outdoor adventure play area and arts and crafts, as well as many more. Find out more here.
