5 things to do in the West Midlands this weekend

Brindleyplace Film Festival 2017
The Brindleyplace Film Festival comes to an end this weekend, but not before a few absolute classics have been shown. The free event, which is now in its sixth year, has a ‘Heroes vs Villains’ theme this year. Friday night will see Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them shown, followed by Lion King and Top Gun on Saturday and Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone and Cool Runnings on Sunday. Erdington Live is taking place this weekend. The event is set to be packed full of music, creativity and family fun. Alongside comedy, drama, poetry and art workshops, there will also be a line-up of live music from The Glamophones, Claret, The Trevor Burton Band and many more. The Red Shoes
Matthew Bourne’s adaptation of The Red Shoes takes to the stage in Birmingham this weekend. The beloved fairy-tale and award-winning movie tells the story of Victoria Page, who lives to dance, but is trapped between the two men who inspire her passion the most.
