ERA in Willenhall

Harris Lamb is marketing a freehold warehouse site in Willenhall following the relocation of security firm ERA.

ERA is expected to move into its new manufacturing, R&D and distribution headquarters at i54 in Wolverhampton in October and has instructed the agents to sell its existing freehold site on the 62,000 sq ft premises in Straight Road.

Charles D’Auncey, director, said that with its facilities and location it would make an ideal manufacturing and distribution hub.

“While the property is currently being used as a manufacturing facility, the site has the potential to subdivide or redevelop and is suitable for alternative uses subject to planning permission, and would suit owner-occupiers, property companies or investors seeking an opportunity to maximise on the continuing high demand for industrial stock within the Black Country,” he said.

KWB has brought the former Walsall Police Station back to the market as a gateway development site.

It is marketing the freehold of the 36,500 sq ft office building on behalf of the West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner.

The station, which closed last year as part of cutbacks by West Midlands Police, is situated on a 1.6-acre site close to Walsall town centre.

Martin Cook, of KWB, said: “The former police station could be retained as offices, but as a landmark site just off Walsall ring road, subject to planning permission, it would better suit redevelopment for an office-led mixed used scheme.”

KWB is also currently marketing the former Shirley Police Station in Solihull.

Colin Naylor and the Dukes Bailiffs team

Stone-based Dukes Bailiffs has been reappointed by Stoke-on-Trent City Council following an open market tender.

The council has chosen three suppliers for the contract, with Dukes being the only local supplier selected to provide local taxation, parking charge notice (PCN) warrant enforcement and debt collection services.

Colin Naylor, founder and managing director, said: “We have been working with Stoke-on-Trent City Council for 16 years and are really pleased that our positive working partnership will now continue for another four years.”

Karl Smith, Commercial Director at Dukes, added: “The contract may open up to a framework, available for any public authority across Staffordshire to access, in which case it will save time, administration and workloads for everybody involved.”
