5 things to do in the West Midlands this weekend

Open air cinema at Regency Wharf
Enjoy your favourite films as the sun goes down this weekend at Regency Wharf in Birmingham city centre. Slumdog Millionaire will be shown on Friday night, with food provided by street food trader The Spice is Right. Stand By Me will be shown on Saturday night, with food from Pietanic and Indian romantic musical will be shown on Sunday, with food provided by Gateway to India and Jimmy Spices. Worcester Beer Festival
Worcester CAMRA Beer, Cider and Perry Festival is taking place this weekend at Worcester Racecourse. The festival will feature over 170 real ales, including many local brews, alongside 100-real draught ciders and perrys. There will also be a selection of fruit and grape wines for visitors to enjoy, as well as a whole host of food and entertainment. Find out more here.

Billionaire Boy
David Walliams’ popular children’s book Billionaire Boy is set to come to life on stage at Coventry’s Charterhouse Priory this weekend. The show follows Mr Spud and his son Joe, who are having to sell their belongings for food and get ready to learn all about how Mr Spud made his millions, and how he lost it all. Beethoven’s Fifth
Head to Birmingham’s Symphony Hall this weekend for a magical evening of classical music. CBSO Migra is set to conduct Beethoven’s Fifth on Sunday night. The programme includes Beethoven Overture Leonore No. 3, 13’, Stravinsky Violin Concerto, 22’ and Beethoven Symphony No. 5, 36’. Find out more here.

Cheese lovers are set for a real treat this weekend. Cheese Fest is taking place at Coventry Cathedral and visitors can expect to try a whole host of cheese products from traders, including mac and cheese waffles, cheesy popcorn and halloumi fries, as well as much more modern cheese recipes and street food.
