Full line up revealed for Camper Calling festival

Three of the biggest bands from the 90s are set to headline Camper Calling next weekend at Ragley Hall in Warwickshire.

Three Lions chart toppers The Lightning Seeds, Liverpool indie rockers Cast and rock legends Reef will headline the three-day family festival which takes place on bank holiday weekend between the 25 -27 August 2017.

UK Garage act Artful Dodger have also just been announced for the event.

Camper Calling, which is now in its second year, is the brain-child of the team behind Camper Jam at Weston Park and the festival has quickly established itself as one of the Midlands’s finest family friendly events.

This year main stage line up includes;

Friday – The Lightning Seeds, Artful Dodger, Backbeat Soundsystem, The Undercover Hippy, The Elephant Trees, Afro Cluster & Caution Horses

Saturday – Reef, Space, Lucy Spraggan, Barbarella’s Bang Bang, Lakuta, Grafton Ash, Scott Matthews, Smooth Ends, Jack in a Box

Sunday – Cast, Musical Youth, BETSY, CC Smugglers, The Atlantic Players, Will Varley, Animal Noise

Across the weekend the Freshly Squeezed stage will play host to some top new talent including Clean Cut Kid, Seafret, Bella McKendree, Sonia Stein, Monty Taft and Josh Kumra.

Festival director Shelley Bond said: “We are delighted to announce our full 2017 music bill for Camper Calling. I’m particularly excited by the recent addition of garage legends Artful Dodger who play on Friday night. I’m sure they will add an amazing party atmosphere to the event.

“We’ve worked hard to deliver a line-up we believe everyone will love and feedback so far has been really amazing.

“I am also excited to announce our wide range of offerings. From award-winning street food and cocktails to boating on the lake and a wide range of family friendly activities, the team has worked hard to deliver the ultimate festival experience right across the board.”

As well as music, the event will also host a whole host of activities for families to enjoy, from craft workshops to campfire tales, lake activities to children’s circus shows.

There will also be street food, AüguztFest for the connoisseur of fine beer with a live Oompah Band, a fun fair, and an array of outdoor activities for visitors of all ages.

Street food will be provided from the region’s best including Seven Mile, Retro Lilly Ice Creams, The Grid BBQ, Buddha Belly, Becky’s Bhajis, The Flying Cows, Pietanic, Barebones Pizza, the Bournville Waffle co and the Cake Doctor.

Activities for 2017 include The Camper Calling Boat Race on the stunning Ragely Lake and lake activities including kayaks, canoes, pedal boats and rowing boats. Heilsa Therapies will be on site offering a range of massage and other therapy treatments. There will also be a large range of family-friendly activities including Kate’s Story Tree and storytelling for all ages.

Handmade Theatre will also return for 2017 with a brand-new show. There will also be African dance workshops, Ukulele lessons, painting workshops, interactive street art and graffiti lessons, Professor Elmo’s Family Circus, Hullahoop classes, a fairground, the Party Trike and more.
