Detailed plans for the next office building to be constructed as part of the transformational £700m Paradise Birmingham development are to be displayed at a public exhibition next month.

One and Two Chamberlain Square have been emerging out of the ground in recent months as the first phase of the development has begun to take shape.

The plans for One Centenary Way, which will overlook Centenary Square, will be presented in an exhibition from September 5.

Rob Groves, regional director at developer Argent, said: “One Centenary Way will be one of the city’s most prominent buildings, overlooking the new upgraded Centenary Square and forming a landmark entrance to the Paradise development.”

Birmingham-based Glenn Howells Architects has designed the 290,000 sq ft office building, which will have space for shops and restaurants at ground and upper ground level.

The detailed planning application is expected to be submitted towards the end of this year by Argent on behalf of Hermes Investment Management.

Chris Taylor, head of private markets at Hermes Investment Management, said: “Paradise is one of the key city centre mixed-use developments in the UK outside London and an outstanding example of placemaking.

“Since work began on the first phase of the development in January 2015, we have seen excellent progress, with PwC already secured for the first building, work well under way on the second and plans for the third now being presented.”
