Airline to create 100 jobs at Birmingham Airport

Jet2.com wants to recruit 100 people at Birmingham Airport as part of a nationwide drive that is seeking to fill 1,700 roles.

The airline launched services from Birmingham earlier this year and quickly announced plans to add 13 destinations from next summer.

The low-cost operator will fly to 30 destinations from Birmingham next year, predominantly close to the Mediterranean Sea, with nearly 1m seats available.

In total Jet2.com is increasing its 2018 capacity to 9.8m seats, more than 1m seats than this year. It will operate a fleet of more than 80 aircraft throughout the summer.

Steve Heapy, chief executive of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays said: “It has been an exciting year for Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, and we are delighted to be creating so many opportunities to join our award-winning team at Birmingham Airport.”

It has more than 100 pilot, cabin crew and ground operations roles available, which it will be showcasing at a roadshow in early September.
