Birmingham restaurant completes prestigious hat-trick

A Birmingham restaurant has been named the best in the West Midlands for the third year in a row.

Jewellery Quarter-based Anderson’s scooped the Restaurant of the Year – West Midlands title at the 2017 Food Awards.

The St Paul’s Square venue has been recognised for its commitment to offering British-reared, rare breed beef.

The bar and grill recently became the first Rare Breeds Survival Trust (RBST) corporate supporter restaurant to receive pedigree Ayrshire cull cow beef from the Duchy Home Farm.

This proved so popular with diners that it sold out within weeks of going on the Market Menu. The knowledge of the restaurant’s staff and their ability to explain dining was suggestions was also seen as a critical factor in the venue’s success.

Chef director Dan Anderson said: “We’re extremely proud to have won this award for three years in a row now. I’d like to say a huge thank you to our fantastic team who work tirelessly to keep up our high standards, and our diners for their votes and continued support over the years.”

The 2017 Food Awards England ceremony took place at the Mercure Manchester Piccadilly Hotel.
