Security firm receives a welcome lift from new funding deal

Integrity Security Group

A Solihull security firm has invested in new equipment and expanded its service offering following a new funding deal.

Integrity Security Group, which is on course to deliver a £3.5m record year in 2017, used a £20,000 grant from Birmingham City Council’s ERDF backed Business Growth Programme to buy a mobile lift platform and launch a new marketing campaign.

The investment is already dividends for the firm after it secured a new contract with West Bromwich’s Envira to upgrade CCTV and fire alarm systems.

ISG would not have been able to bid for the work had it not purchased the 14.3-metre Versalift elevated work platform.

“We have been growing 15% year-on-year since 2012 and, when you expand at this pace, it starts to create its own problems…so it’s nice to get some business support to help us manage these pains and make the most of opportunities,” said Will Adams, ISG managing director.

The firm received help from Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council, pointing it in the direction of the Business Growth Programme, where it was further assisted by the city council in meeting the award criteria.

“We secured £20,000 of match funding against a £43,290 project that has given us a real boost in expanding our electronic security operation. With the escalating costs of employing staff, our customers are increasingly considering this form of security as opposed to manned guarding,” added Mr Adams.

“The Versalift gives us the ability to reach higher locations and to work in difficult environments where space is at a premium.”

Employing 150 people at its offices in Solihull, the Black Country and in Letchworth Garden City in the South East, Integrity has also embarked on a new marketing campaign.

This has involved the relaunch of its corporate website, improved search engine optimisation, additional corporate material and a PR function from Albrighton consultancy Cucumber PR.
