West Midlands housebuilder Cameron Homes is to go ahead with a new residential development in Worcestershire after the completion of a new land deal.

Cameron fended off strong competition from local, regional and national housebuilders to acquire the site in Pinvin, near Pershore.

It plans to construct 40 new homes on the land.

Ian Burns, managing director, Cameron Homes said the village would be enhanced by the new development and the development could be the first of several the company was planning for the county.

“We’re keen to do more in Worcestershire and are actively looking for other sites,” he said.

Fisher German was first instructed by the landowner three years ago to find a developer to take the site forward and secure planning consent.

It identified Lone Star Land to promote the site. It went on to consult with the parish council and then Wychavon District Council, managing last year to secure outline consent for 40 homes on the land.

Fisher German partner Rob Champion said the progress of the scheme had been “textbook”.

Lone Star managing director and founder Andy Wilkins said the firm specialised in turning sites with low-scale prospects into more valuable opportunities by engaging proactively with local communities.
