Interest brewing as George Clooney’s coffee heads for Touchwood

Touchwood

Solihull shopping centre, Touchwood has secured another big name retailer to add to its roster of leading brands.

Lend Lease Retail Partnership (LLRP), a fund managed by Lendlease, which owns the centre said it had secured a new leasing deal with coffee company Nespresso, best known for being promoted by George Clooney.

The 2,000 sq ft boutique store is due to open next month. It will be adjacent to Pandora and electric vehicle car brand Tesla.

The store will stock Nespresso’s full range of coffee capsules, machines and accessories, and the store design is being carried out by an in-house team.

Nespresso is targeting high-end retail outlets such as Touchwood to capitalise on Britain’s growing obsession with coffee; it is estimated that 30% of UK consumers now own a coffee pod machine.

Demand for the products is also strong during the festive period and Nespresso will be looking to capitalise on that.

Commenting, Guy Thomas, Head of Retail at Lendlease said: “We are thrilled Nespresso will be joining Touchwood’s prestigious retail line-up, further cementing the centre’s position as the first choice for West Midlands consumers. As the market leader in premium coffee, we are sure the brand’s boutique concept will be incredibly popular with Touchwood customers.”

Francisco Nogueira, Nespresso UK & Ireland Managing Director, added: “We are delighted to be launching our latest store at Touchwood, a key moment in our expansion across the UK. The centre boasts an affluent catchment and impressive portfolio of aspirational brands and we can’t wait to soon be one of them.”

CBRE and Strutt & Parker represented Touchwood.

Touchwood claims an average visitor spend of £104.
