Retailer ditches Resorts World to relocate to new scheme in Stratford

Bell Court

An independent luxury interior and accessories boutique has abandoned the glittering surroundings of the Resorts World Birmingham complex to relocate to a new shopping and leisure scheme in Stratford-upon-Avon.

Farringdon and Forbes, which is owned by Jules Cardozo-Marsh, has been based at Resorts World since the £150m casino complex opened two years ago.

It has opted for the Bell Court scheme in Stratford town centre, where it will open its doors to customers later this month following fit-out of its new unit.

The retailer sells a varied selection of products from furniture to soft furnishings, home fragrance and elegant room decorations; the majority of which are sourced from the UK.

Jules Cardozo-Marsh said: “This is an extremely exciting time for Farringdon and Forbes as we expand our business and bring our elegant home accessories to Stratford-upon-Avon.

“We’ve had a very successful two years at Resorts World but are now very much looking forward to our next challenge. Being an independent business means that we hand choose all of the products stocked in the shop, as well as creating our own home fragrances.”

In addition to the new shop at Bell Court, Farringdon and Forbes has also launched a concession at New Edge Interiors in Solihull, a move planned as part of the company’s ongoing expansion.

The boutique will join other independent retailers at Bell Court including Bardia’s Floral Café, The Naildressers and The Browstudio.

Toby Saggers, Asset Manager at UK & European Investments, the owner of Bell Court, said: “We’re very excited to be welcoming Farringdon and Forbes to Bell Court. Jules stocks some beautiful, high quality products in her shop and is sure to attract many customers from Stratford-upon-Avon and beyond.

“This letting follows the news last month that Seasalt clothing will be opening at Bell Court early next year; both helping to establish the development as a key retail destination in the town.”

Anchored by an Everyman Cinema, Bell Court is already home to numerous restaurants and bars including ASK Italian, Veeno and Nando’s with both Miller & Carter and All Bar One also opening at the development shortly.
