A Midlands occupational health company has strengthened its presence in the sector with a new acquisition in a deal part advised out of Birmingham.

Northampton-based occupational health (OH) and wellbeing provider, Medigold Health Consultancy has acquired Industrial, Medical & Safety Services (IMASS).

Birmingham-based Bracebridge Corporate Finance advised on the sale, the terms of which have not been disclosed.

Founded over 20 years ago by Dr Paul Yarnley, Plymouth-based IMASS provides OH services to the public sector, predominantly in the South West.

The business has demonstrated year on year growth and is on track to achieve £5m turnover this year. Its services include health screening, medical assessments and absence management.

Steve Way, managing director, who joined the company in 1998, will continue in his current role and will also support Medigold Health with its future growth strategy.

He said: “We are delighted to have found the right home for IMASS as it looks to take the next step in its development. We are extremely proud of the entire team and we have every confidence that the company will continue to expand and provide high quality services under Medigold Health’s ownership.”

Medigold Health is one of the UK’s leading providers of corporate healthcare services.

Alex Goldsmith, CEO of Medigold Health, said the deal offered the business the chance to significantly enhance its brand across the UK.

Bracebridge was appointed to explore the strategic options for sale and to advise on the sale process.

Andy Moore, managing director of Bracebridge, said: “This is an excellent result for the shareholders of IMASS. The acquisition is part of Medigold Health’s continued expansion of its service offering and geographic presence.”
