Key framework agreement drives forward job creation plans

Engineering, environment and design consultancy Sweco plans to create 20 jobs this year in response to infrastructure contracts won through a Highways England framework.

Sweco recently moved offices in Solihull to increase its capacity and expects to employ 55 people by the end of the year.

It says it has a strong new business pipeline and has secured a number of new road infrastructure contracts through its appointment to the Highways England Collaborative Delivery Framework.

Patrick Harrington, operations director for transportation at Sweco, said: “We’ve experienced strong growth over the past two years and now is the time to expand our operations in Solihull as the work on these new projects ramps up.

“The government’s commitment to boost infrastructure spending offers significant opportunities for the business.”

The new office will be the base for delivering a range of design and engineering services, for a number of highway schemes in the South of England, including the A47 and A303, and the smart motorway projects on the M3 and M27.
