West Midlands MPs leave business roles in reshuffle

Wyre Forest MP Mark Garnier

Two West Midlands MPs left their business posts yesterday as part of Prime Minister Theresa May’s reshuffle.

Stourbridge MP Margot James had been small business minister for 18 months and has been promoted to Digital and Culture minister, replacing Matt Hancock who has entered the Cabinet as Culture Secretary.

International trade minister and Wyre Forest MP Mark Garnier, who had been subject to claims about inappropriate conduct mostly involving outdated language, has left the Government.

The West Midlands still has one Cabinet member – Bromsgrove MP Sajid Javid, who stayed still in the reshuffle, albeit with a slightly changed title of Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government.
