Insolvency firms agree merger

A Midlands insolvency practice has merged with another that operates in London and the South-East in a move designed to boost expansion and client service.

SA Insolvency, which has practices in Worcester, Hereford and Northampton, has merged with Benedict Mackenzie. The new business will be called Benedict Mackenzie.

Company director Sanjay Swarup said the two firms brought together more than 20 years of experience of providing insolvency and advisory services.

“The scale will allow for better service, with increased efficiencies,” he said.

“The decision was made for SAI’s Carrie James to head up the merged practices. Carrie is also the Deputy Vice-President of the Insolvency Practitioners Association.”

BM focuses on the SME market, working with owner managed businesses including limited companies, limited liability partnerships, sole traders or partnerships.

Services include formal insolvency guidance and consultancy as well as business turnaround advice and strategy implementation. The firm also works with business advisers to provide advice on business rescue and recovery, liquidation, administration and Company Voluntary Arrangements.

Ms James, the insolvency appointment taker, said: “The practice is committed to investment in latest technology and working practices so that our customers can get the best service.

“We now have physical presence across the South East, Worcestershire, Herefordshire and Northamptonshire. We will be focused on development of our people, the key resource for this knowledge based sector.”
