£3m investment puts truck centre on the road

A sales centre for used Volvo trucks has opened in Walsall following a £3m investment by the Hartshorne Group.

Hartshorne, one of the largest private dealer groups in the West Midlands, is part of a £200m-turnover business which employs 750 people at 20 dealer locations across the Midlands and North.

The site will sell pre-owned trucks in order to meet healthy demand in the haulage sector, confirming the region’s strong credentials as a road transport hub.

The company has invested around £1m in the building, with a further £2m worth of stock. The site will initially create at least 10 jobs.

Ian Middleton, group sales director at Hartshorne Crossroads Group, said: “We’re proud to have a great relationships with numerous businesses in and around Walsall. This investment in our new site here represents a huge vote of our confidence in the region.

“The new sales centre will enable us to further enhance the range choice that we offer to hauliers.”

The Hartshorne Group Used Truck Centre is on a 1.3-acre site in Bentley Mill Way, close to local motorway links.
