Accountancy firm looks to build on record turnover to sustain growth

A Midlands accountancy firm is building on a strong end to 2017 by targeting continued growth in the year ahead.

Based in Stafford, Howards has announced year-on-year growth of 18% and a record turnover of £2m for 2017.

The firm said this had been achieved due to the business taking on a diverse range of new local and regional clients, all in need of services such as workers’ pensions auto enrolment, flat rate VAT changes and alterations to the dividend tax system.

Howards has also put its success down to the company forging closer partnerships with popular small business accounting software providers such as Xero and QuickBooks.

Howards is an accredited advisor for Xero and ProAdvisor for QuickBooks, which means it is able to support businesses looking to benefit from Cloud-based accounting.

The firm has also been buoyed by the success of staff members completing their ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) exams.

Rachel Sawbridge

All eight members of its staff who studied for their qualifications have passed their exams. They included Rachael Wilson and Rachel Sawbridge, who are now fully qualified.

Managing Director Matt Bailey said: “What a year we’re having already, with incredible growth, record turnover and a clean sweep across the board for everyone who took their ACCA exams. This can only be good news for all our customers and for the continued expansion of the business.

“Last year will be remembered by everyone at Howards as the time when the company went from strength to strength, with many new members of staff joining (to take) us to record levels of personnel.”
