Jobs saved after haulage business sold out of administration

The jobs of 21 people employed at a Warwickshire haulier have been saved after a pre-pack deal to sell the business out of administration.

Partner Andrew Watling and director Simon Campbell, both of corporate recovery specialist Quantuma, were appointed joint administrators to Bedworth Haulage on January 25.

The business, based at Bayton Road Industrial Estate, Exhall, Coventry, was founded in 1970 and provided haulage to the temperature controlled, pharmaceutical and safety and security sectors. It had an annual turnover circa £5m.

Mr Watling said: “The business was overcome by the weight of historic debt and a number of recent unprofitable contracts.

“We were able to achieve a sale to C4 Safety and save 21 jobs, with no redundancies being required.”
