Mailbox strengthens retail offering with new tenant

Birmingham’s Mailbox has added to its roster of up-market retailers by securing bespoke kitchen firm Harvey Jones as a new tenant.

The bespoke kitchen designer and manufacturer will move into the mall in the spring and strengthen the venue’s home furnishings offering.

Harvey Jones Kitchens will open on Level 1 in May, sitting alongside a home furnishings and interiors department which includes MADE.COM. Heal’s, BoConcept, Calligaris, The Design Quarter and Wesley Barrell, in addition to Kitchen Gallery, Castle Fine Art, and iLite Lighting, an authorised Swarovski Lighting retailer.

With 31 showrooms across the UK, Harvey Jones has been making bespoke kitchens from its Cambridgeshire workshop for more than 35 years, and within that time has crafted more than 15,000 handmade kitchens. All kitchens are designed and made to order.

John Curwen, CEO at Harvey Jones Kitchens said: “We are delighted to be opening in the Mailbox. We have been keen to bring our furniture to the area for some time and have been looking forward to the right location becoming available.

“The site offers the perfect location for our customer demographic and provides a different model from our usual high street showrooms. It is the key premium shopping destination in the city.”

Simon Samuels, Partner at Brockton Capital, joint owner of the Mailbox with Milligan, said: “We know that our customers are interested in high-end contemporary kitchens and furniture, and Harvey Jones at the Mailbox complements our existing mix of both aspirational and accessible home furnishings and interiors brands.”

Other retailers based at The Mailbox include Harvey Nichols’ 45,000 sq ft flagship store; Paul Smith, BOSS, Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein Underwear, Emporio Armani, Daniel Footwear, L.K. Bennett and Gieves & Hawkes, Ribble Cycle’s first flagship showroom, The Wedding Club and Fine & Country. In addition, it includes an Everyman Cinema, Malmaison hotel, AC Hotels and a mix of canalside bars and restaurants.

Nash Bond and GVA are leasing agents for the Mailbox.
