Animal welfare charity supported by LoveBrum funding

Wellcat, a charity which rescues and rehomes cats, has been awarded £2,000 by LoveBrum after winning the monthly members’ vote.

Each month three organisations are selected, grouped around a theme, and LoveBrum’s supporters choose their favourite.

In Feburary the work of animal welfare organisations Wellcat, Shirley Horse and Pony Rescue, and Happyfields Animal Sanctuary were highlighted.

Wellcat, which is based in Quinton, cares for up to 150 cats at a time and finds new homes for hundreds of cats each year.

Wellcat is looking to expand and provide a new space for the many kittens in their care.

With kitten season approaching, this number could potentially triple by the end of March, so there is an urgent requirement for additional space.

Wellcat plans to build a new cat chalet, which will be insulated and heated, with separate pens so that each litter has their own space.
